All because of a crush….

My crush started early...much earlier than most school girl crushes.

What I’m trying to say is...I didn’t start this business by accident. It was fated, predetermined, a destiny of sorts.

Let me explain….

I’m an Australian by way of Poland. I got my start in life in Eastern Europe. Eastern European women are generally renowned for being beautiful. But we tend not to age well.

So it’s become an obsession of sorts. I mean, beauty is a heady drug, and it’s a high that no woman wants to give up, no matter how old she gets, or how many decades of beauty she got to enjoy.

But I learned early on that you CAN have it both ways. This is where my story begins, and how Skin Crush came to be.

There was a market in my hometown in Poland. I don’t come from Warsaw or any big city you’ve likely heard of. I come from a smaller town, that’s somewhat remote, and largely unremarkable. Except for one thing….

The market was ordinary, just like any other market. I remember it smelling like pastries and burnt potatoes. And there were plain, unremarkable booths everywhere, filled with vendors desperately vying for people’s business. Even as a little girl, I knew it was an odd spectacle. But there was one booth that stood out, that always drew a crowd, that left everyone feeling happy, and hopeful, and excited to be alive. It was run by a woman called Zuzanna...everyone called her Zu.

The thing about Zu is that she never aged. So said the townsfolk, anyway. She was a legend...sort of like a mix between a hero and a witch. No one knew her secret, but everyone wished they did. I was too young to care. But every week, my mother went to see her, and she’d bring me along. There, right at the market, Zu would secretly mix some potions in the tented back area of her booth, and offer them up to her various customers. No one was allowed to see what she was doing.

One day, when no one was paying attention, I snuck away and crept into Zu’s tent to see what kind of magic she was spinning. She was surrounded by herbs and potions and oils and lotions...they were everywhere. I watched in fascination as she mixed various concoctions. And then she saw me spying on her. She stopped what she was doing, looked at me very intently, and then she spoke.

“It’s a crush, child,” Zu said, smiling at me, as if we were sharing a secret. “Your skin is the first crush you’ll ever have.” She reached out and touched my face. Of course, at that age, my skin was flawless.

I had no idea what she was talking about; I was only 6 years old. But years later, when I was 12, my mother and I returned to Poland for several months. Of course, one of the first things we did was go to visit Zu.

I was stunned to see that she hadn’t aged one bit. Her skin was as delicate and creamy as ever. Whatever she had truly was magic. When my mother stepped away for a moment, Zu looked at me, winked, and spoke again.

“Do you get it now, child?” She asked, her eyes dancing with amusement. “It’s a crush...your skin is your first love. Keep it simple, keep it natural, and spare no expense. I promise your skin is worth it.”

I remember blushing and really feeling the redness hit my cheeks. At 12, I knew about crushes, and I thought Zu was having a laugh at my expense. But that wasn’t the case.

I started Skin Crush because I realized, now that I’m in my 30s, that Zu was right. Good skincare starts with simple, natural, non-chemical, ultra high-end luxury products. I spare no expense in scouring the world for just the right ingredients, finding solutions in nature, and creating results-driven products. Because it truly IS a crush, your first crush, your longest lasting crush, and your skin truly IS worth it.

My goal at Skin Crush is bring you products that give you reason to smile, every time you look in the mirror. To keep it natural, real, and luxurious yet ridiculously simple....to keep your skin supple, youthful, and luscious. I chose to use bright colors, just like the brightly colored vials of potions in Zu’s tent. Because just like Zu, your skin has its own legacy. You get to decide the story it tells. And I’m here to make it a lush, decadent, amazing story!

Our Company

We’re an Australian-owned company, with all our lovely products whipped up right here on our beautiful Aussie shores. We’re also small, in both the size of our business and the batches we produce. But just because we’re small doesn’t mean we can’t make a big difference - to the babes who use our products, as well as the world around us…

Our Future

We’re on a mission to make the world a little better, in whatever way we can. Whether that’s helping busy women simplify their skincare routines (and - let’s be honest - their lives as a result!), or doing what we can to be kinder to the planet. As a proud cruelty free brand with a huge passion for animals, we’ve decided to give back by donating to animal charities. It’s a cause that’s super-close to the heart of Skin Crush founder, Eva - and it’s just one of the ways we aim to make a real, lasting difference.
